Bristol Palin Is Pregnant, Expresses Disappointment And Sadness

Bristol Palin is pregnant with her second child, but she’s not exactly celebrating her big baby news. In fact, Sarah Palin’s daughter has shockingly labeled her pregnancy a “huge disappointment.”

Bristol Palin announced her pregnancy in a Patheos blog post titled “Big News,” and she candidly admitted that she’s struggling with the prospect of giving birth to another child as a single mother. Palin revealed that she was forced to break her baby news earlier than she wanted to because of “trolls who have nothing better to talk about.”

“I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant,” Bristol wrote. “Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one… Life moves on no matter what. So no matter how you feel, you get up, get dressed, show up, and never give up.”

Bristol’s blog post didn’t get any less dismal as she wrote about how her family members and friends responded to her pregnancy.

“I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you. But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time. I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.”

Bristol Palin didn’t reveal whose baby she is carrying, but one likely candidate is former U.S. Marine Dakota Meyer. Bristol and Dakota were supposed to get married over Memorial Day weekend, but they suddenly called their wedding off. In fact, it was canceled so hastily that the Palin and Meyer families decided that they wouldn’t let the couple’s wedding plans go to waste. According to People, the families still gathered together to break bread (and chow down on barbecue) at the Meyers’ farm in Kentucky.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, there were rumors that Bristol Palin decided to call off the wedding after finding out that Dakota Meyer was hiding a previous marriage from her. However, Sarah Palin later shared a statement from her daughter saying that Dakota had informed Bristol about his first wife before he and Bristol got engaged.

Bristol Palin has never been married, but she has been engaged multiple times. In 2008, it was announced that then-17-year-old Bristol was pregnant with the child of her high school boyfriend, Levi Johnston. Levi and Bristol called off their engagement two weeks after their son Tripp was born in December 2008, but they got engaged again for a brief period during 2010.

According to Us Weekly, Bristol Palin once made a very good living telling teens not to have sex until marriage. In 2009, she earned $262,000 working as an “abstinence ambassador” for the Candie’s Foundation. ABC News reports that Bristol was still preaching about abstinence in 2010, and she was even so bold as to tell Oprah Winfrey that she would not have sex (again) until she was married.

“It’s a realistic goal for myself,” Bristol said after a skeptical Oprah asked her whether she was setting herself up for failure.

In 2012, Bristol Palin made a similar claim. She was engaged to a pipeline worker named Giacinto “Gino” Paoletti at the time, and she told In Touch Weekly that she and her fiance had decided to remain abstinent until they officially became husband and wife.

“Gino and I are going to wait until marriage,” Bristol said. “I’m doing what’s best for me. It’s between me and God, and I know it’s right.”
