‘RHOBH’ Eileen Davidson Thanks Fans For Condolences Regarding Father-In-Law

Eileen Davidson has thanked her fans for sending her their condolences regarding the passing of her father-in-law, actor Dick Van Patten. On Tuesday, Eileen, tweeted that she will love Dick forever.

Earlier on Tuesday, People reported that Dick, who was known for his roles on Eight Is Enough,The Love Boat and many other shows, died in the morning at Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California due to complications from diabetes. He was 86-years-old.

Eileen, who is married to one of Dick’s three sons, Vince Van Patten, also posted a photo of the family at dinner back in April when they were celebrating Dick and Patricia Van Patten’s anniversary. The two were married for more than 60 years.

Eileen Davidson, an actress who has been a mainstay on soaps The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives for years, joined Bravo’s reality TV show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for the show’s fifth season. While Dick Van Patten didn’t appear on the reality show, his son Vince did appear several times on his wife’s premiere season.

It was during a poker party that Vince, a professional poker player, and Eileen hosted at their home that the real drama of Season 5 began. On the way to the party, Kim Richards behaved erratically and rambled incoherently while in the car with Lisa Rinna. In Vince and Eileen’s home, Kim continued to behave strangely, prompting sister Kyle to express concern for her. When Kim got up to leave the party, accompanied by Brandi Glanville, Kyle tried to stop her to make sure that she was okay. This led to a physical altercation between Kyle and Brandi. The fight extended to outside the home, on Vince and Eileen’s driveway. At one point, Vince, from inside the garage, could be seen spying on the women fighting outside

When that episode aired in January, Eileen wrote on her BravoTV blog that she at the time didn’t realize what was happening. She also blasted Brandi Glanville for making fun of her home.

“Obviously, Brandi loves to stir the pot. I guess she gets a kick out of being provocative and saying mean and nasty things. As far as her comments about our home? I thought it was comical that she mentioned Norman Bates, considering she’s the one that’s acting psycho. I didn’t see what happened between Brandi and Kyle in our entryway until I watched the episode. Scary. The evening has spiraled completely out of control.”

Eileen Davidson may not have to deal with Brandi Glanville, at least not as much, on Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. On Thursday, multiple media outlets reported that producers have decided to drop Brandi as a starring housewife from the upcoming season.

While Brandi seems to be out, Eileen seems to be in. As reported by the Inquisitr in early May, Eileen’s husband Vince, reflecting on finishing their first season on the show, said that it “looks like [they’re] gonna come back for season two for more punishment…”
