A Florida woman has been arrested after police say that she assaulted her mother during an argument over food. WFTV News 9 reports that Kristin Howard has been charged with domestic battery , and she didn’t even get to eat the chicken and biscuits that caused the entire ordeal.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday night, shortly before midnight, when 31-year-old Howard reportedly came home drunk and decided to make herself a plate of chicken and biscuits. Howard’s mother, Kimberly Miller, said that the woman was angry and intoxicated when she arrived.
That is when an alleged argument broke out over the chicken and biscuits the Florida woman was trying to prepare for herself. The argument was reportedly over who owned the chicken, which angered the younger of the two women. Police allege that Kristin Howard punched her mother in the face before pouring tea on her.
Local News 10 reports that this is the sixth time Howard has been arrested for battery since February 2008. In other words, this woman allegedly has a problem keeping her cool in tense situations. Reports aren’t sharing whether or not the previous arrests were related to food or alcohol.
This isn’t the first time a Florida woman has made media headlines over food. In 2009 a woman named Latreasa Goodman called 911 at least three times to report that McDonald’s wouldn’t give her a refund after they ran out of Chicken McNuggets. During the 911 call, the irate woman refused to eat something else to substitute for the nuggets.
“She’s trying to force me to eat something off the menu and I don’t want it.”
Another Florida woman, just this year , allegedly poured barbecue sauce on her husband. She also armed herself with two knives and began to chase after him. This was, of course, her levelheaded response to his request for a divorce. The use of food as a weapon appears to be a time-honored tradition in Florida. In 1997 a woman in Broward County pelted her boyfriend with frozen chicken legs , among other items, when he came home too late at night.
No reports are indicating whether or not Kristin Howard’s mom suffered any injuries that required medical care — nor are they mentioning whether or not the Florida woman has been released from jail. One could only imagine if any chicken and biscuits were served in the drunk tank, since Howard never got to eat the plate of food that she made for herself in the first place.
