Nick Viall Villain? Some ‘Bachelorette’ Watchers Disagree

Nick Viall made a dramatic entrance into this season of The Bachelorette. Viewers knew he was coming, as his appearance was teased during the premiere episode. And as much as the other men were not happy with Viall’s sudden entry into the Bachelorette pool of suitors, Viall is not necessarily the villain many viewers perceive him to be.

Viall was Andi Dorfman’s second choice on her season of The Bachelorette. During the After the Final Rose special, Viall asked Dorfman why, if she didn’t love him, why she had spent the night with him. Andi called his comments “below the belt.”

In a letter to Dorfman, Nick expressed his feelings for Andi, and that letter was reproduced in full on The Bachelorette Facebook page. His words give the impression he had deep feelings for Andi and was devastated by her rejection.

“I realize I have to move on and I mean it when I say that if you’re truly happy with your decision and I haven’t been a thought on your mind, then I want that happiness to continue for you. If I have to move on, I will look to find amazing with someone else know that some day I will. I just know I would much rather turn my life upside down and risk it all to have amazing with you.”

After Nick made his appearance on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season, Andi Dorfman had a message for her.

But Nick is not without his fans.

Claire Fallon wrote in The Huffington Post that Nick Viall fans, like herself, are out there, just not making their names known.

“We all felt a little ashamed, knowing that we were deviating from the party line. But we didn’t quite see what he’d done that was so bad, really. And wasn’t he pretty cute?”

Even Andi Dorfman has provided more opinions on Twitter.

Monday night on The Bachelorette, Bristowe will reportedly sleep with a contestant. Viewers will have to wait and see whether it’s Nick Viall. The action gets started at 8 p.m. eastern time on ABC.
