The “biggest party in sport” continues, and fans can watch live online as the Caribbean Premier League cricket tournament stages the second match of its 2015 campaign, with the St. Lucia Zouks hosting last year’s third-place finisher, the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel in a T20 match at Beausejour Cricket Ground in Castries City on the island of St. Lucia.
On Saturday, the defending champion, Barbados Tridents, dispatched their 2014 CPL Final opponent, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, by setting a target of 189 then proceeding to bowl out the Denesh Ramdin-led side in front of a typically raucous crowd in Barbados.
To join the Caribbean Premier League Party and watch the St. Lucia Zouks vs. Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel T20 cricket match live online, see the information at the bottom of this article. The match is one of only three-day games on the 2015 CPL schedule, starting at 4 p.m. in St. Lucia, which is the same as United States Eastern Time, or 1 p.m. Pacific.
England’s most controversial cricket star, Kevin Pietersen, who has been exiled from the England national side, takes his talents to St. Lucia for the second straight year. The Zouks hope that the prolific batsmen can give them a boost that will lift them out of the fifth position, where they finished last year in the six-team league.
The revered former West Indies fast bowler Sir Andy Roberts will serve as “mentor” to the Zouks’ side and says that he is looking forward to coaching Pietersen this year, even though the 34-year-old was banished from the England national team due to what England’s newly anointed Director of Cricket Andrew Strauss called “a massive trust issue.”
“One of the things I see is that we must keep personal matters out of the sport,” said Roberts earlier in June. “Everybody accuses him of being selfish but I know for you to be a top class sportsman, in any category be it a team or self, you have to be selfish. If Kevin Pietersen is selfish and goes out to bat and scores 100 in 80-odd balls, that must be for the benefit of the team.”
Trinidad and Tobago are led by the Bravo brothers, Darren and Dwayne, while in addition to Pietersen, St. Lucia features two stars of the West Indies team, all-rounder Darren Sammy — a St. Lucia native — and fast bowler Kemar Roach.
