Mindy Kaling Scenes: ‘The Mindy Project’ Star Says Sex Scenes Are Fun To Film
Mindy Kaling is talking about filming sex scenes, and she’s telling you what no one else in Hollywood will… that they are actually fun to film.
Mindy’s revelation was made in her new book Why Not Me?, due out on September 29. Kaling’s book features a chapter titled “I Love Sex Scenes!” where she says that any other actor or actress that says sex scenes aren’t fun is lying, according to the Washington Post.
“I am here to tell you they’re all lying,” she writes. “Every last one of ’em.”

“Obviously onscreen sex is not actual penetrative sex, but, as any religious high schooler will tell you, simulating sex can be pretty damn enjoyable as well,” she continues.
Mindy even admits that she doesn’t mind having a bunch of people looking on as the scenes are filmed.
“To that I say: the more, the merrier! Most of those people are artists whose job it is to make sure your physical imperfections are cloaked in mysterious shadows. By the end of the shooting day, you’ll wish there were more people there.”
While Kaling says she understands why some actors and actresses want to downplay the enjoyment because of their significant others, and often refer to it as “awkward.” She says, though, that it is honestly the “world’s best job perk.”
“People already think acting is the world’s easiest and most frivolous job,” she says. “So we all have this tacit agreement to keep our traps shut about the world’s best job perk.”
“If you are the unlucky spouse of an actor, the last thing you want to hear is that, in addition to him getting to fake-cheat on you by virtue of the most unfair loophole of all time, he also really enjoyed it.”
One of Mindy’s favorite actors to simulate sex with is Chris Messina, her on-screen boyfriend Danny on The Mindy Project.
“Chris Messina is the most in-touch-with-his-body person of all time, and all he does is make you feel beautiful and confident,” she previously told Time in an interview, according to the Huffington Post. “I’ve known him now for quite some time and we’re so comfortable with each other that I wasn’t self-conscious at all. I wish on every actress that they get to shoot a sex scene with Chris Messina, because it’s great fun.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, The Mindy Project was recently canceled by Fox, but has since been picked up for a fourth season by Hulu.
“It’s so exciting because I’ve had a relationship with Hulu for a while,” Kaling told the Hollywood Reporter. “Most people I know have been watching the show on Hulu to begin with so it’s been great, they’ve been so supportive… Honestly it’ll be nice to be at a place where we don’t have the same concerns that we always had for so many years and it’s just good to be at a place that really wants you,” she added. “So, I love all those feelings, I’m feeling really good about it.”
