Channing Tatum Talks ‘Nude Bonding’ With ‘Magic Mike XXL’ Co-Stars

By now, we know that Channing Tatum is the kind of guy you should want to have fun with. He’s candid, charming, and has a reputation for being one of the nicest guys in Hollywood.

Right now, he’s been making the press rounds for his new film Magic Mike XXL. So far, that’s resulted in pretty funny anecdotes from the modest actor.

According to Entertainment Weekly, who spent a night with the stars of Magic Mike XXL, there were a few doozies revealed. One of them is that the boys like to bond naked together. And it’s not just strictly for the Magic Mike co-stars, either. Tatum’s co-star, Matt Bomer, told the magazine that it’s one of the must-do’s when getting a group of guys together. “I think anytime you want to form a rock solid ensemble, make everybody get naked. Instant trust happens.”

Bomer continued, “We’re accountability partners. If anything we’re the ones being like, ‘Let’s go to the gym.’ We stay and watch each other’s numbers even when we’re not working. We’re cheering.”

Tatum also agrees that getting naked is a must. “I’ll forever be able to see them across the room and be like ‘You!’ ” he says, pointing across the table to one the actors. “If ever s**t goes down, I know who’s willing to go hard — no pun intended.”

If you had questions as to whether or not Channing and Matt are besties, just take Channing’s reddit AMA, for example. The actor got very excited while talking about his Magic Mike co-star and his dreamy, piercing blue eyes.

“No matter if you’re a man, woman, cat, hamster, you will get lost in Matt Bomer’s eyes. I don’t know what they are made of outside of a dreams and rainbows and amazingness but it truly doesn’t matter.”

Tatum continued, “And when he sings. It’s like god gave with both hands and then grew a third hand and graced him with more. He’s crazy talented.”

In case you don’t know, Magic Mike XXL differs in many ways from the first film, but one big difference is that the strippers are heading to a stripper convention. The official synopsis is as follows.

“Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, ‘Magic Mike XXL’ finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.

On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.”

Actors Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, and Kevin Nash are joined by new cast members Amber Heard, Alex Rodriguez, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Glover, Jada Pinkett Smith, Stephen “Twitch” Boss, Andie MacDowell, Michael Strahan, and Gabriel Iglesias.

Magic Mike XXL opens on July 1.
