Tony Romo Welcomes Son

Dallas Cowboy Tony Romo and wife, Candice Crawford welcomed their son on Monday, April 9th, according to the Cowboys spokesperson Rich Dalrymple.

The little cowboy’s name was announced as Hawkins Crawford Romo, which was also said in a statement made by Dalrymple. “He came into this world on 4/9/12 at 5:30 p.m., 8 lbs. and 8 oz. All is well with mom,” continued Dalrymple.

Tony Romo, 31, and Candice Crawford, a former Miss. Missouri, 25, started dating in the summer of 2009, shortly after Tony split from pop singer Jessica Simpson. After a short courtship the two married in May 2011, and announced their pregnancy in October of that same year.

Brother-in-law and Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford was asked to comment on the impending birth a few weeks ago and had this to say, “He’s over-the-moon excited about it. He’s just such a wonderful person. He was born ready to have a family, you know what I mean? So it makes perfect sense.”

In addition to being supported by the elder Crawford, Tony Romo received support from his teammates per the Cowboys twitter page, “Congratulations to Tony Romo, proud papa of Hawkins Crawford Romo, born yesterday at 5:30pm. 8 lbs 8 oz,”

Reports first surfaced about the impending birth when Romo took to an unlikely stage at Cedar Hill High School to answer the question on whether or not he had any kids. The football player took that moment to announce that his wife was expecting.
