Molly Shattuck Pleads Guilty: 47-Year-Old Mother Of Three Pleads Guilty To Rape Of Minor
Molly Shattuck pleads guilty in court this week, admitting that she raped a teenage boy. According to WBAL TV, Shattuck faces 15 years in prison, and will be forced to register as a sex offender as a result. The 47-year-old mother of three will be back in court later this summer to find out her punishment.

“Shattuck, the estranged wife of former Constellation Energy CEO Mayo Shattuck, was indicted in November in Delaware on nine counts: Two counts of third-degree rape, a Class B felony in Delaware; four counts of unlawful sexual contact, a Class F felony; and three counts of distributing alcohol to a minor, a misdemeanor.”
Although she was charged with other things, including providing alcohol to minors, Shattuck will only be facing consequences for rape in the fourth degree thanks to a plea deal that likely saved her several years behind bars.
Molly Shattuck was expected to plead guilty in court on Wednesday, but her date got moved up in an effort to keep the media at bay. As a former NFL cheerleader (she once made headlines for being the “oldest cheerleader” in the NFL), this is considered a high profile case, so she was “secretly” brought into court today — people caught on straight away, however.
“Ms. Shattuck has accepted full responsibility for her actions today,” attorney Michelle Lipkowitz said. According to the Washington Post, Molly was accused of meeting a 15-year-old boy on the internet (some reports indicate that she met him through her own son). She supposedly got him drunk, and had a “sexual encounter” with him over Labor Day weekend last year.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Shattuck was indicted back in November. She was taken into custody, and released on $84,000 bond. Shattuck and her husband were going through a divorce a few months ago. It is unclear if those details have been finalized.
The Inquisitr also reported that there has been some controversy over the use of the term “rape” in this case. Since it is believed that Shattuck performed oral sex on the boy, but the two did not have intercourse, some feel that this wasn’t “rape,” but molestation instead.
Molly Shattuck’s guilty plea will see her in court on August 14. She will undoubtedly be spending time behind bars, but it’s unknown whether or not she will get the max sentence of 15 years.
