LeBron James Penis Flash: Video Of Accidental Exposure Could Lead To Big Fine For ABC

LeBron James accidentally flashed his penis during Game 4 of the 2015 NBA Finals, a mid-game mishap caught on video that quickly went viral and could now lead to big consequences for ABC.

The network broadcasting the game was showing LeBron and his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates as they stood in a huddle. While he listened to coach David Blatt, James adjusted his basketball shorts and adjusted himself, with the camera catching all of it.

The incident didn’t slip past the audience, with videos of LeBron’s accidental penis flash filling the internet (some videos can be seen here and here, but be warned that it includes nudity).

While it remains to be seen whether ABC faces a fine for LeBron James’ accidental penis flash, a similar incident landed a Virginia television station in deep trouble earlier this year. Back in May, the FCC leveled a $325,000 fine against WDBJ Television, which accidentally aired nudity during a broadcast on an ex-porn star who was volunteering with a local fire department.

The television station showed part of the woman’s website that included her posing in a racy but fully clothed picture, but the station’s editors failed to notice that a box on the side of the website had a much more explicit video.

The nudity fine was actually the first one the FCC had leveled in years, the National Journal explained.

“The FCC has long barred radio and broadcast TV stations from airing indecent material such as curse words and nudity. But for much of the Obama administration, the agency declined to enforce the rules, saying its authority was in legal limbo because of constitutional challenges from broadcasters.

“In 2012, the Supreme Court upheld the FCC’s authority to police the airwaves for indecent content. The FCC settled cases against two radio stations in 2014, but Monday’s ruling is the first action against a TV station since 2008.”

But in announcing the fine, the FCC gave a rationale that could strike fear into ABC after the accidental LeBron James penis flash was caught on video.

“Our action here sends a clear signal that there are severe consequences for TV stations that air sexually explicit images when children are likely to be watching,” Travis LeBlanc, chief of the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau, said in a statement.

Given the ratings of the first three games of the 2015 NBA Finals, it’s likely that many, many children saw LeBron James accidentally flash his penis.
