‘Empire’ Season 2 Spoilers: New Teasers For Cookie’s New Man And More

Fans of Empire want to know all they can about Empire Season 2 before its return in September, but the plot details about the upcoming season are being kept closely guarded. However, there are some new teasers for the upcoming season.

Adam Rodriguez is joining the cast for Empire Season 2, and it was revealed that he is a new love interest for Cookie. E! News did try to get more out of Danny Strong about Rodriguez’s character, but he did not reveal much.

“I’m not saying nothing, but it’s going to be a good part, and he’s great for it. I’m really happy he’s doing it.”

Adam Rodriguez had a guest role on The Night Shift on NBC that wrapped with the Season 2 finale. This summer, fans of the actor will see more of him in Magic Mike XXL.

Danny Strong also confirmed that the theme for Season 2 is “warring kingdoms.” Danny Strong shared more about the theme at a recent appearance, and he is borrowing from Game of Thrones in a big way, according to Franchise Herald.

“Season one was who will inherit the throne, and season two is warring kingdoms. So you’ll see the kingdom go to war for the throne. The thing we talk about in the writers’ room all the time is [Game of Thrones]. It goes back to the ‘King Lear’ of it all, so the idea of telling you this modern-day pop soap opera but also try to frame it in an epic, mythological kingdom-type framework is, to me, the most exciting part of the show. We’re talking about kings and queens and princes and that sort of language. The continuation of those battles is what I dig the most.”

With Lucious still in prison when Season 2 picks up the action, fans will see more of his reach, according to Ilene Chaiken. She offered a small teaser to TV Line at a recent event.

“Lucious can do what he does no matter where he is. Lucious, basically, has tentacles.”

There are big things coming for Empire Season 2. A previous Inquisitr report teased some of the big changes ahead. With 18 episodes set for Season 2, fans should expect more drama out of Lucious and the gang.

There are several big names coming to the series during Season 2. Both Chris Rock and Alicia Keys will appear, and TV Line revealed that they will not play themselves. They will take on characters and dive into the drama completely.

Empire became a huge hit for Fox, and the series is ready to keep dominating the ratings with Season 2. What do you think? Are you ready for the return of Empire to Fox? Season 2 will premiere on September 23.
