Young Thug Gets Style Inspiration From Children?

Young Thug usually leaves people guessing, what with his new ice cream tattoo on his face in honor of Gucci Mane, but now Young Thug’s stylist, JoJo Zarur, is talking about something just as controversial as his lyrics — his style.

Zarur met Young Thug during a trip to Atlanta after being a student at Stanford University. Thug then “stalked her Instagram” until he got her to style his “Stoner” video. The fashion student left school to become Young Thug’s full time stylist, which according to Thug’s friends, he needed.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, Zarur stated, “When I first met Young Thug, Birdman came up to me and he was like, ‘You need to help him.’ ”

Young Thug ended his “Check” video wearing a “skintight Hooter’s tank that even the restaurant’s most underendowed hostesses would have trouble fitting into,” says Hot New Hip Hop.

Young Thug, whose style could at times be referred to as “androgynous,” has even been seen in a dress.

As seen in Complex, Zarur admitted just where Young Thug has found some of his more interesting pieces — the children’s department.

“He would go to the kid’s section and buy a kid’s dress.”

Now that Zarur has joined Young Thug, though, she tends to make and tailor all of his wardrobe.

“He told me, ‘I only feel comfortable with really tight pants.’ I will go buy him a pair of men’s pants, and I cut and sew them to a women’s fit.”

Zarur has even turned a backpack into a jacket and a costume into a fur jacket for the controversial rapper.

But that’s just the beginning. It seems that each time someone has something negative to say about his style, Young Thug takes it to the next level.

Zarur admitted that Young Thug knows just what’s he’s doing and why he’s doing it.

“Sometimes he’ll do stuff on purpose that he knows will piss people off. If people start talking shit about his nails being red, he’ll put crystals on the nails. Talk about his jeans, he’s like, ‘I want tighter jeans.’ He goes out of his way to make sure people know he doesn’t care.”

Young Thug seems to get that message out perfectly clear. Whether it’s shopping in the wrong department, sharing lyrics that leave you scratching your head, or starting fights with Lil Wayne, it’s clear that Young Thug does whatever Young Thug wants to do.
