Mother And Son On The Run After Allegedly Plotting To Kidnap And Murder Attorney
A mother and son are on the run after police say they tried to kill a divorce attorney by hiding in her trunk and keeping what was seemingly a kit to torture and murder the woman.
The strange saga began in May, when attorney Rebecca Eimermann’s husband found 51-year-old Renee Perillo and her 21-year-old son Richard hiding in the trunk of his wife’s car. They were arrested and charged with misdemeanors, but told police that they were homeless and just looking for a place to sleep.
Police were suspicious of the story, but with no other evidence the two were released on May 23.
“There was a lot of curiosity on our part, but obviously it takes time to run down those leads and put that information together,” Hamilton County Sheriff Mark Bowen told WTTV.
But soon a different story emerged. Inmates said Richie was bragging about a plot to kill the attorney, who represents his mother’s boyfriend in a separate divorce settlement.
“Richie advised his mom’s husband was getting sued and they came up here to ‘do a hit’ on the lawyer,” a detective was quoted in court documents.
Police did more digging and found a stolen car with both the mother and son’s identification still inside. In the car police also found what appeared to be a kit for kidnapping and killing a victim.
The items included (via WTTV):
- Tranquilizer gun with four darts
- Box of ammunition
- Two machetes
- Long-handled shovel with fresh dirt on the blade
- Blond colored long-hair wig
- Roll of duct tape
- Alcohol prep pads and antibacterial wipes
- Glock.40 caliber magazine fully loaded
- Commando saw
- Hammer
- Multiple pairs of gloves
- Hypodermic needles
- Brown walking cane, two men’s hats, shirt with a white collar such as would be worn by a priest or clergyman
- Silicone mask designed to cover the entire head, depicting an elderly man’s face/head
Detectives also found a syringe filled with a drug called succinylcholine, one used by anesthesiologists before surgery. Police said it was strong enough to have killed anyone it was administered to.
With their plot to kill the attorney seemingly discovered, the mother and son crime duo are now on the run from police. The sheriff’s office issued an arrest warrant and warned that the pair could be leaving the area.
“We’re taking it very seriously and doing everything that we can to get these folks picked up before something happens to somebody else,” Bowen said.
The mother and son on the run for allegedly trying to kill divorce attorney Rebecca Eimermann are facing a number of charges, including conspiracy to commit murder.
