CD Projekt Red, the developer of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, announced the next free DLCs players can expect to download this week. In keeping up with the promise of 16 free DLCs, the developer revealed the game’s seventh and eighth pieces of DLCs; a new quest and a new set of neutral gwent cards.
The new DLCs are being previewed on the franchise’s official Facebook page right now. Players can plan to download a new free quest called “Fool’s Gold” and the “Ballad Heroes” gwent card set later this week. In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, players take on many quests, but the free addition of another is always welcome. The gwent card set is wanted as well with many players enamored with the game within the game. This new neutral set will allow players using any type of deck to add to their current build.
Free DLCs are not the only thing keeping The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt popular. The co-founder of the game revealed today that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold over 4 million copies in its first two weeks of release. Frequent free DLCs probably add to that number, but swift patch cycles also help.
As the Inquisitr reported, patch 1.05 for PC and patch 1.04 for Playstation 4 released last week. This major patch fixed several problems with the game including an issue where experience was not being granted for some quests and adjusting the size and readability of the HUD. That patch is now available worldwide and on the Xbox One starting today. Players can check out the full list of changes for patch 1.04 on the official site for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
In his thank you post to gamers everywhere, the co-founder of CD Projekt Red pointed out that more updates and, of course, free DLC are still on the way for fans of the game.
“Four million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is! Until then, keep on enjoying Wild Hunt, do not forget to grab your weekly set of free DLCs, and stay tuned for constant updates and enhancement to the game we are continuously working on.”
