Kim Kardashian lists Spanx among her reasons to give thanks. The reality TV star and fashionista dished on pregnancy-related topics ranging from Spanx shapewear to her desire to avoid eating a doughnut a day and emphasized that this time around, she’s learned a few tricks, reported Us Weekly.
Although Kim initially hesitated when she realized that her new pregnancy Spanx didn’t quite match the desired hue, she decided that comfort sometimes trumps fashion.
“Earlier today, I was wearing these pregnancy Spanx. And they were newer, so they weren’t really the color tone of what I used to wear, and so you totally saw through, and I was just like ‘F— it, I’m more comfortable in that and it’s just going to be one of those days’—I wasn’t feeling good.”
For Kardashian, however, it’s a constant struggle between looking fabulous and feeling comfortable, whether or not she’s pregnant, revealed the 34-year-old fashionista.
“Sometimes I wear two pairs [of Spanx] under something or stockings,” admitted Kim. “It holds you in.”
Before she became pregnant, Kardashian also felt insecure about her weight that she links to hormones.
“And when you go on all these hormones and stuff, before I felt like [like] I was trying everything, so I was getting bigger and bigger and I was like ‘No, I’m not pregnant yet, I need to be skinny.’ So, I was definitely insecure.”
In addition, Kim confessed that she occasionally wears outfits that look great in photos, but that she immediately relaxes once she’s done.
“Sometimes I’ll wear something and I’ll get inside and be like ‘Oh my God, I want to take these shoes off. That was not normal, I can’t wear these, I need to just leave and take them off.’ So it might look good in the picture, but I get them and then like, I’ve got to be normal and like unbutton my pants when I get in the car.”
As for the weight gain that she experienced during her first pregnancy, Kim is ahead of the game.
“This time around I have a nutritionist to keep me healthy while I’m pregnant. The last pregnancy, I ate a donut every single day, I’m not doing that this time. But I’ve also been taking it easy and enjoying myself.”
As the Inquisitr reported, Kardashian lost an estimated 70 pounds by using the high-fat, low-carb ketogenic Atkins diet. The weight loss program is designed to put the body into nutritional ketosis with generous amounts of fat, moderate amounts of protein, and limited carbohydrates in the form of non-starchy vegetables.
But regardless of her weight, Kim tries to feel confident about her body and appearance, reported Elle.
However, Kardashian admits that it’s a battle, especially now that she’s got a baby bump, she’s forced to wear flats rather than her beloved higher-than-high heels.
“I happen to hate the way I look in flats,” shared Kim. “It’s really hard for me so I’m already thinking, like, ‘What the f**k am I going to do?’ And when I was pregnant, it was the hardest thing. But I know it’s better and easier, you know, so it’s a struggle.”
