Sorry, Bruce Jenner Does Not Live Here Anymore
Bruce Jenner, we hardly knew you, but a certain BBC Radio host could not forget about you. BBC Radio host James Naughtie accidentally referred to the former Olympian as he, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Naughtie did apologize for the slip of the tongue, but the damage was done.
Per Time, James Naughtie’s words on BBC Radio 4’s Today morning show was where the slip of the tongue took place.
“Now, this is complicated.
He used to be called Bruce but he’s now a woman. I realize some of you will never have heard of Kim Kardashian, let alone her stepfather, who was Bruce and is now a woman but, anyway, they are very well known on television.”
While what Naughtie said was not devastating in any way, couth, decorum, and sensitivity should have taken place here.
Just in case you were born yesterday, Bruce Jenner no longer exists. Caitlyn Jenner, on the other hand, is alive and well, thanks to the several stages of gender transformation she has gone through over the last few months. This includes a facial-feminization, which is credited for how beautiful she looks.
The former Olympic gold medalist, and head of the Jenner/Kardashian clan that millions of people tune in to watch on television every week, no longer exists. Caitlyn Jenner, as James Naughtie was admittedly confused by, just recently wowed everyone with her stunning body and gorgeous looks.
This happened earlier in the week, taking the world by storm and breaking the internet. It just seems as if that’s what the Jenner and Kardashian women do. They take over our conversations whether we are fans or not. They get us captivated and we wait, lean on every word, every photo op, and every appearance.
The recent Vanity Fair photo shoot and article introducing Caitlyn Jenner to the world should have buried any thought that we ever had about Bruce Jenner.
During the interview, Caitlyn speaks to Vanity Fair contributor Buzz Bissinger about the secret that she kept for nearly all of her life.
“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life. You never dealt with yourself,’ and I don’t want that to happen.”
Sorry Mr. Naughtie, but Bruce Jenner was just an identity for Caitlyn. What we saw over the years was not Bruce Jenner, but someone, like many others, who was afraid to be themselves. James Naughtie is not the first to have a slip of the tongue when it comes to Caitlyn Jenner. Sadly, he will not be the last. It is time to realize that Bruce Jenner does not exist anymore. In fact, she has been Caitlyn Jenner all along.
Caitlyn Jenner was just afraid to be herself.
