Gregory Papdin, a holidaymaker, was taking a video of his brother on a boat whilst on holiday in Menorca when he dropped the iPhone 5 into the Spanish ocean, still on record.
An amazing video was released after Papdin’s brother dove to the bottom of the ocean to save the iPhone 5, which was encapsulated in a waterproof case.
The video captures the iPhone 5’s entire descent to the seabed, including recordings of schools of fish and divers. It also captured the dive in which the phone was saved. At the bottom of the ocean, Papdin managed to also sneak an underwater selfie shot.
This is a unique display of an Apple product showing some signs of durability, especially following numerous criticisms the Apple Watch’s shoddy battery life and weak screen. The weak screen was particularly displayed in a viral video from TechRax.
