Walt Disney World Bringing ‘Hocus Pocus’ Stage Show To Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party — Will This Finally Bring The Sequel?

Disney knows what their fans and park-goers want, and they are going to give it to them again this year. Walt Disney World will have a number of dates this fall for their Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but it will have a new stage show for all who buy tickets to it. The show will be themed around Hocus Pocus and bring the Sanderson Sisters back to life.

It has been 22 years since the release of Hocus Pocus, and fans still love the bumbling, yet evil, sister witches. That’s why Disney will have the stage show for all those at the Halloween parties in the Magic Kingdom.

The Disney Parks Blog revealed some of the info but haven’t given too much away. However, it sort of looks as if the Sanderson Sisters will be the hosts of the parties this year.

“With the help of the Disney villains, Winifred, Mary and Sarah gather together sinister shadows, nefarious nightmares and the power of their frightful friends to conjure the ultimate Hocus Pocus Party Potion and cast a spell on everyone in the Magic Kingdom Park. ‘Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular’ features appearances by Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, Maleficent and other great Disney villains, along with dancers, projections and special effects that combine to make this new show a not-to-be-missed Halloween treat.”

When Disney announced earlier this year that the “Villains Mix-And-Mingle” stage show was cancelled, fans weren’t too happy. They weren’t sure what was going to take its place, but that show has long been a fan favorite.

Combining the Sanderson Sisters with all the other popular Disney Villains has fans even more excited. Disney must have noticed the uproar back in November when talk of a sequel to the 1993 film started up.

Bette Middler and Kathy Najimy are on board for a Hocus Pocus sequel, but one more sister was needed.

There has been no further advancement on a sequel to the film, but one has to think that this year may drum up even more interest in it. Hocus Pocus having a stage show at Walt Disney World is absolutely huge, and Disney may use this to see if a sequel will actually do well in theaters.

It doesn’t appear as if that will be a problem.

The Hocus Pocus stage show (Villain Spelltacular) will only take place at the hard-ticket event called Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. In order to see it, Walt Disney World visitors need to buy a separate ticket, but that likely won’t be something many people mind doing.
