Millionaire Mom Poisoned Son: Gigi Jordan Sentenced To Prison For Poisoning Autistic Son
Millionaire mom Gigi Jordan poisoned her autistic son inside a lavish New York City hotel room. Jordan was sentenced to an 18-year prison sentence for killing her 8-year-old son on Thursday. The 54-year-old millionaire mom was convicted of manslaughter in the first degree charges for the 2010 poisoning death of her son, Jude Mirra.
Gigi Jordan poisoned her son at the Peninsula Hotel on February 5, 2010, according to the New York Supreme Court ruling. The millionaire mom was a pharmaceutical executive. Jordan reportedly forced Jude Mirra to consume “high doses” of prescription medication by placing a syringe down his throat during the late evening and early morning hours. The couple checked into the NYC Fifth Avenue hotel two days prior to the poisoning.
The millionaire NY mom was found sitting next to the bed where her unresponsive autistic son was laying — surrounded by pill bottles and pills.
Manhattan district attorney Cyrus Vance shared his thoughts after the millionaire mom poisoned son sentencing hearing.
“No one, and particularly no child, deserves the type of death that Jude Mirra suffered at the hands of his mother. The poisoning and killing of an eight-year-old boy is a premeditated act of child abuse. After five years, justice has finally been served with today’s sentence of 18 years.”
Gigi Jordan reportedly attempted to rationalize the poisoning death of her non-verbal autistic son by telling the court that he would be subjected to a life of “sexual torture” by his biological father, Emil Tzakov, and claimed she felt she would be murdered by her ex-husband, Ray Mirra.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon chastised millionaire mom Gigi Jordan for attempting to justify the poisoning of her autistic son.
“You would think in 2015, the defendant would say something like, ‘What a terrible thing I did. How could I kill my own son?’ But five years later — the same thing. It’s hard for me to believe.”
Judge Solomon said that no evidence existed to support the millionaire mom’s claims of potential sexual torture or threats of bodily harm. The New York City judge also said that due to her $50 million fortune, she had the means to protect her son.
Jude Mirra was reportedly a happy 8-year-old by who frequently smiled.
“All of her money, all of her resources. She decided to kill him. There are so many different things she could have done. She had all the money in the world to help Jude but she wound up taking his life,” Judge Solomon also noted.
Millionaire mom Gigi Jordan claimed to have attempted to kill herself by putting narcotics in vodka and drinking the concoction after poisoning her son, but police said she was awake, lucid, and asking for a lawyer when they barged into the hotel room.
