Harrison Ford ‘Very, Very Happy’ To Be Back In Flight

Three months ago, Harrison Ford was injured when his small, personal aircraft crash-landed at a Los Angeles-area golf course and it has taken most of that time for Ford to recover, but it seems nothing can keep Harrison out of the skies. Earlier today, Mr. Ford was photographed at Santa Monica Airport, where Harrison was already preparing to take off in his 2013 Bell 407 helicopter.

Mr. Ford, looking healthy and fit at 72 years of age, was dressed casually in a T-shirt, khakis, and baseball cap, as he was seen going into the airport, something he seems to have been anticipating as he convalesced.

“This is the first time Harrison was back at the airport since his scary crash landing,” an airport source said, according to People.

“Harrison was very, very happy to be back at the airport,” another source said. “He kept smiling and, although walking with a slight limp, looked great.”

Mr. Ford spent most of the afternoon airborne, as he flew the length of the coast several times, sources reported. Harrison was joined by a friend on the flight, which seemed to have no purpose other than to get Harrison back into the air.

“He co-piloted his helicopter and flew up and down the coast with a friend for a couple of hours. He seemed very excited about flying again.”

Upon returning from the coastal cruise, Harrison Ford was seen grinning at onlookers, obviously pleased to have had a successful return to the skies.

The Washington Post reports that Mr. Ford has been very pleased to be able to get out on his own and was also spotted driving the streets of L.A. in a Tesla.

“Harrison seemed fine and drove himself to Steven Spielberg’s house for a visit. After spending weeks in the hospital, he seemed happy to be back at home. He makes small errands and visits friends.”

Of the two months since the accident, Mr. Ford spent a month of that time bedridden in the hospital. Harrison’s hospital stay was necessary to mend several broken bones, as well as a large laceration in his scalp. Mr. Ford’s spirits were kept high by frequent visits from wife Calista Flockhart.

Immediately following the accident, Harrison’s 47-year-old son Ben Ford reported the Star Wars actor’s condition to fans via social media.

“At the hospital. Dad is ok. Battered, but ok. He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man.”
