Reese Witherspoon Planning A Post-Pregnancy Break From Acting

Reese Witherspoon is on to pregnancy number three, and reportedly intends to take a break from acting to focus on being a mother.

The $15 million-a-movie star is expecting her first child with CAA agent husband Jim Toth, 41 (she shares custody of daughter Ava, 12, and son Deacon, 8, with ex Ryan Phillippe). Speaking to Us Weekly, a source close to the actress revealed her post-pregnancy plans, stating:

“She wants to have this child and take time off. She’s not getting great offers.”

As Us points out, a career break might be wise right now – although she can still demand a big fee, Witherspoon’s most recent films have put in limp box office performances. This Means War, Water for Elephants and How Do You Know were all commercial disappointments. Another source apparently revealed:

“She wants to relaunch her career completely and have Jim handle it.”

Meanwhile, the actress attempted to shield her pregnancy bump from eager paparazzi on Tuesday, while exiting the Byron and Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills. The actress, who is 13 weeks gone, is said to be visibly pregnant, but has yet to make an official announcement. Us Weekly‘s source revealed:

“[She wants to] let people figure it out. She’s been showing for a while.”

Witherspoon is said to be “elated” at becoming a mom for the third time, and is ready to settle down for good at her $7 million Ojai, California ranch. An insider said: “Settling down with Jim and raising a family is what she wanted.”
