Running Shoes: How To Find The Best Pair

Whether a person is an avid runner or just starting to train, it is important for them to know how to find the best pair of running shoes. A great fitting pair of sneakers can mean the difference between performing well and getting injured.

In Indiana, Heather Moses-Loredo just opened up a small business, Running Or Not… Shoes. It is a store dedicated to running, occupational, and casual, comfortable footwear.

Recent trends have revealed that people are actively curious about the best running shoes and even how to tie shoelaces!

Running shoes have become so popular that entrepreneurs, like Moses-Loredo, have seen a prime business niche opportunity in sneakers and other sporting footwear.

“After overseeing the Oakbrook Nordstrom children’s shoe department and being the footwear lead at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Highland, I realized the business I wanted to open was definitely a shoe store. Shoes are definitely my thing.”

With the development of the iStep, a digital foot scanning technology that helps custom fit shoes to customers size, arch type, and fit, customers can expect to find the perfect running shoe.

Aetrex Worldwide, the developer of the iStep technology, began to expand from its Aetrex locations in Teaneck, New Jersey, into retail locations in malls over a year ago. Since then, the iStep has become more popular, and avid runners enjoy the benefits of customized shoe fitting.

The machine incorporates state-of-the-art digital scanners and pressure sensors and determines specifications on a user’s foot size, arch type, and pressure points.

“It takes 10 digital images of the foot and gives customers a visual of their arch type, pressure points. It helps determine the type of shoe and/or type of insert they need,” adds Moses-Loredo.

Replacing sneakers every three to four months for regular runners is still ideal, and it is important to try on running shoes for the best fit. Yet, the most efficient way to find the best pair of sneakers is with the iStep. Now that retailers are adding the technology to launch footwear brands besides Aetrex, customers can rely on easier access to comfortable footwear and quicker access to the best running shoes for their foot type.
