Taylor Armstrong appears on an upcoming episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now?, and during her interview with Oprah Winfrey, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star opens up about the sad reason she’s had so many plastic surgeries.
On May 21, PEOPLE Magazine shared a sneak peek at the new episode, which featured Taylor Armstrong speaking to Winfrey about her abuse-ridden past.
“I spent the early part of my life trying to become someone that I wasn’t, and I think a lot of it has to do with the shame and the guilt and all of the things I was carrying from my past.”
As Taylor Armstrong has publicly revealed, she was abused frequently by her ex-husband, the late Russell Armstrong. According to her book, Taylor Armstrong was abused both mentally and physically by her ex, who hung himself years ago, and at one point, nearly suffered a broken jaw.
Although Taylor Armstrong stayed in the abusive relationship for many years, she did her best to mask the pain by attempting to transform herself into someone she didn’t recognize.
“I got new lips and new breasts and changed my hair, changed my name. It was anything I could do to try to become someone else.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Taylor Armstrong has been vocal about the ongoing drama on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, despite having left the series years ago. Most recently, the former reality star spoke to TooFab about the feud between sisters Kim and Kyle Richards, as well as Kim’s stint in rehab.
“It hurts my heart to watch a lot of it because I really care for so many of the girls. Watching them have issues is tough — especially watching Kyle and Kim struggle — because Kyle is so important to me. I just want to see them happy — that was really hard for me to watch.”
As for Kim, who entered rehab at the end of last month following a drunken meltdown at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Taylor Armstrong wished her well.
“I’m just wishing Kim the best. I hope, this time, everyone can come out of this with a new perspective, and hopefully, her children won’t have to suffer through these struggles any longer.”
