Madonna’s Daughter Goes Gray: Lourdes Leon Steps Out In NYC With New Look

Madonna’s daughter has gray hair, and the hair color choice has people talking. According to Daily Mail Online, Lourdes Leon stepped out in New York City earlier this week, and she had a new look. The 18-year-old went from brown hair to gray hair.

This is not too shocking these days, though. Lourdes is not the first celebrity to go gray. Hilary Duff showed off her gray hair earlier this year, and the hair color is now becoming popular with non-celebrities, as well. The “granny look” is definitely in at the moment.

Madonna’s little girl is definitely growing up, though. She is back in New York City after attending her first year at the University of Michigan, and her new gray hair definitely earned some attention as she caught the subway in New York. She showed off her hair by wearing a “knitted Fred Perry hat… [and] a black jumper with a white T-shirt and grey leggings.”

Madonna and Lourdes were spotted out together earlier this month. They were partying after the Met Gala in New York City. According to InTouch Weekly, the mother and daughter showed off their revealing outfits as they left the Met Gala after party. Lourdes wore “an almost entirely see-through mesh Moshino slip and tiny black shorts, and her mother in a dollar bill adorned jacket, assorted bling and little leather hotpants over fishnet stockings.” At that event, Lourdes was still a very normal brown shade of color.

Lourdes is not one to shy away from daring fashion choices. Back in March, Daily Mail Online caught Lourdes out in New York City, and she was sporting a septum piercing. That piercing is still a part of her look now.

Lourdes and Madonna have always been close. When Lourdes left for college last year, her mother was concerned about her daughter leaving home. When she released her new album, Rebel Heart, in March, she revealed some of the advice she gave her daughter before she left in an interview on the Today Show with Carson Daly.

“Try to do everything in moderation. Try not to kill all your brain cells. And try to go to class. I’m very, you know, worried. [I always ask her]: “Are you OK? Are you getting enough sleep? Are you eating right? You know, I set up a humidifier in her room with eucalyptus oil. I was worried about the fact that she didn’t have enough towels, Q-tips, you know. I’m not not allowed at [football] games,’ she admitted. ‘You think my daughter wants me at a game?’ “

Madonna also revealed that her daughter is “horrified” by the sexual nature of some of her music. While recording some of her racier material on Rebel Heart, she had to tell her younger children to wait outside while she finished recording. When Madonna visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show during her Rebel Heart promotion, she revealed more about her daughter’s departure for college, and it was not an easy time for her, according to People Magazine.

“My sister said it to me when her son went away. I was like, ‘Oh my God, you’re being so dramatic.’ She was, like, bawling and bawling. And then my daughter left me, and I fell into the deepest depression. And I’m always so happy when she calls me and she says, ‘Mommy, I miss you’ or ‘I need you to rub my head.’ “

However, Lourdes was excited to start her post-high school life. People Magazine shared a snippet from Lourdes’ blog that expressed her feelings about her departure from high school.

“HEY to all the readers. I don’t know if u heard (sarcasm) but I GRADUATED. GRAAAAAD. UATED. From High School. Its very difficult to wrap my head around because I feel like its something I’ve been talking about FOR EVER and it finally happened. There also isn’t the ominous presence of another year of high school and test taking up ahead like there usually is when you’re about mid way into the beautiful summer.”

It is clear that Lourdes and Madonna have managed to stay close since Lourdes left for college last year. She is now back at home in New York City with her mom, and she is turning heads with her new daring look. Just last week, Madonna showed off a new pink ombre look on her Instagram, according to a previous Inquisitr report. People are talking about Lourdes’ new look on social media today. The response to her new gray hair has been mostly positive.
