Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda prove that age is nothing but a number. Both of the actresses were featured on major magazines this week. Both Jennifer and Jane revealed their secret to aging gracefully.
Lopez, 45, graced the cover of Us Weekly’s “Best Bodies” issue. The “Booty” proved it by featuring her most famous assets on the cover. Lopez is seen wearing a black halter swimsuit with a plunging neckline and a shiny gold belt.
“I see pictures of myself in my twenties and go, ‘Oh, I look better now! I embrace who I am. I feel sexy, I feel youthful, I feel pretty sometimes.”
There are even days when the sexiest entertainer in the world doesn’t feel attractive. When she feels ugly, Jennifer says that she focuses on the inside rather than the outside.
“I think a healthy body image comes from being the best you, not competing with anybody else. You know, I’m not a 6-foot tall model… I’m not a size 2. I think it’s about focusing on yourself and just trying to be the best you.”
So how does J.Lo always look so good? She credits BodyLab and celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson for her banging body.
“I live a healthy lifestyle, I try to live a healthy lifestyle. I’m always looking for something that’s gonna help me enhance that lifestyle. BodyLab is a set of supplements that is about your body working as hard as you do.”
Don’t think that Lopez is a slave to the gym, though. She admits that she’s not that crazy when it comes to working and staying fit. Lopez is just like us, to be honest.
“You hit a stride where your spirit, mind and body all come together. I work out, but I’m not as much of a fanatic as I used to be. And, funnily enough, I feel like I’m in better shape now.”
Meanwhile, Jane Fonda graced the cover of W magazine‘s June/July issue. The legendary actress wears a white Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown and fur cape with a shiny silver belt. She also displays a lot of cleavage on the cover. Fonda is the fashion magazine’s oldest cover girl, at age 77, but she’s still showing young women how it’s done.
“I’m best when I’m wearing something structured, with no frills or bows. Something that will show my waist and bum, because I’ve always had a good bum.”
Jane also revealed that she hasn’t gone under the knife, although she’s not smug about it.
“But I grew up so defined by my looks. I was taught to think that if I wanted to be loved, I had to be thin and pretty. That leads to a lot of trouble.”
How does Jane Fonda feel about being a fashion icon? She thinks it’s hilarious.
“I think it’s a hoot that, at my age, people are calling me a fashion icon. I realized I didn’t have a lot of time left, and I wanted to pay more attention.
Truthfully, my relationship to fashion has always been strained. When I was starting out as an actress in New York, I worked as a model because I needed to pay for acting classes. But I didn’t have what it took to be a model. I hated all the emphasis on how I looked, and I never paid much attention to clothes.”
The activist recently promoted her new film, Youth, at the Cannes Film Festival. At Wednesday’s premiere, Fonda opened up about her role helps her deal with aging gracefully.
“There is something very vulnerable about an old woman who puts on the mask of makeup. When that’s stripped away she becomes very vulnerable. That’s fun to play. For me, this movie Youth says something I agree with very much, that age is a question of attitude… You remain young and vital in your mind if you have a passion in your life. I do — and the film does.”
Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda prove that sexy happens at any age. Here’s a fun fact: These ladies starred in the 2005 film, Monster In Law. Jennifer’s Us Weekly is on newsstands now, while the July issue of W magazine is on newsstands June 2.
