‘Real Housewives’ Teresa Giudice Is Fighting To Remain Relevant [Report]

The Real Housewives of New Jersey season seven is currently up in the air as rumors regarding casting continue to swirl.

Ever since Teresa Giudice entered prison to serve a 15-month term on January 5, reports have continuously surfaced about whether or not she would return to the show. In addition, there have been rumors about when production would begin. However, through it all, Bravo has remained silent, and so has Giudice.

While fans of The Real Housewives of New Jersey will have to wait several more months before learning official cast and premiere date details, a new source has spoken out, claiming Giudice is determined to stay relevant and remain on the Bravo reality series.

On May 20, a source revealed the following to Real Mr. Housewife:

“Teresa is fighting like hell to stay relevant by making up stories to put in the press from prison, even going as far as to allow a picture release of her young daughters on her lap from prison. She brings all the negative stories to the show. Without fighting with her family or her friends, she has no storyline. If she continues to make up stories to stay relevant, she is hopeful this will give her things to talk about on the show.”

According to the source, Real Housewives fans have “tired of seeing the network [Bravo] glorify” Giudice’s criminal behavior, and since her and Joe’s trial last year, Giudice has lost a ton of fans.

“The height of the Teresa phase is over. All of these nonsense stories you are hearing in the press are just Teresa and her attorney fighting to keep her name out there.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Real Housewives producers are reportedly growing concerned about how fan backlash could impact the show. While Giudice has long been a main cast member on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Bravo may not want to move forward with her if it will put the success of the show in jeopardy. Producers are also worried that her tame behavior wouldn’t add much to the show if they do bring her back.

“Ratings plummeted last season,” a source told Real Mr. Housewife. “What we saw was a mellowed out Teresa and the fans had no interest in it. Her storylines have always been about bringing other people on the show to do her dirty work to bring her castmates down.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey has yet to be officially renewed.
