Grandson Of Russian Oligarch Compares Himself To Steven Spielberg Following Viral Humiliation Video

Any 16-year-old has to be pretty confident and have good reason to compare himself to legendary film director Steven Spielberg, and that is just what grandson of Russian billionaire Grigory Mamurin is.

It all started when Mamurin went to Moscow’s best-known park, the Gorky Park, with a film crew and paid perfect strangers large sums of cash to humiliate themselves on camera in various ways.

While justice has been done, sort of, as the young teen has been grounded for his actions, the video went totally viral and for the people humiliated in it, the damage was already done.

As well as offering people cash to drink his urine, as well as giving women money to strip naked, Mamurin also handed out red caviar and filmed hungry homeless people eating it.

As the self-styled filmmaker says in the video, “Today we have come to the Gorky Park in order to find out how much humiliation people are ready to experience for the sake of money.”

At one point, the teen asks a passerby, “Will you drink a glass of my urine if I offer you some money? About 10,000-15,000 roubles? ($170-$250).” One woman is seen running away while a man is filmed showing a clear interest in the bank notes.

Despite the video going so viral, there were of course many complaints made about it. Mamurin responded via his personal press officer,

“I have always wanted to start a channel at YouTube. I wanted to do something interesting, that other people would like, something unusual. This is how this project was born, it shows what our society is ready to do for the sake of money. It has elements of show. I don’t understand why people are so negative about me. We have seen similar shows on MTV, various practical jokes. I don’t get why is it a problem about me? I can say that every fourth person agreed to do something crazy like this.”

In responding to the many comments that the video is a fake, Mamurin continued, “The video is genuine. I should have been at least Spielberg to stage something like this. I don’t want to prove anything to anybody. I did not expect it to become such an online bomb. But it did work. My granddad got to know and father and mother. I should say they do not approve of it. But they don’t stop me. I can go on with this project.”

Despite all that, the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper in Russia reported some people’s comments about the video, with one suggesting, “I think this guy should visit a psychiatrist – he suffers from sadism,” and another added, “I only hope now no single University will take him.”
