‘Pitch Perfect’s’ Rebel Wilson Has The Perfect Response To Age Rumors

Pitch Perfect’s Rebel Wilson had the perfect response to reports saying that she’s been lying about her age and name. It’s typical to have a stage name, and some people have lied about their age in the business to preserve youth and longevity in Hollywood, but is Wilson on that list?

That was questioned when Australian tabloid Woman’s Day published a story with a tip from someone who went to high school with Rebel Wilson.

That said, Wilson had the perfect response to the reports via her Twitter. “OMG I’m actually a 100 year old mermaid formerly known as ‘CC Chalice’…thanks shady Australian press for your tall poppy syndrome x.”

Then she tweeted out another mention to clarify just one last thing. “Okay but all jokes aside now.. my real name is Fat Patricia x.” This tweet referenced her character Fat Amy, from the films Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2.

As the Inquisitr reported, at first it was believed that Rebel had grew up in the ghetto of Sydney. A source told Woman’s Day, in fact she had a “very normal, upper-middle-class upbringing.”

“While Rebel paints a picture of a gypsy upbringing, her family home was certainly not in any ghetto.”

The source continued, “She’s clearly got a vivid imagination. Maybe you have to tell stories to make it in Hollywood!”

It was reported that Rebel’s real name is actually Melanie Bownds, and even though she threw herself a 29th birthday party, it’s believed that she’s in fact 36 years old.

There’s also this to consider too:

A source, who sounds like a former disgruntled classmate, provided a photo of Rebel from her yearbook, which shows the name “Melanie Bownds.”

The source continued to speak about Rebel Wilson’s demeanor in school. “She was definitely not the class clown; none of us remember her being funny.”

Here’s a photo of Rebel Wilson back in her high school days.
