‘Drunk’ Alabama Couple Arrested When Sunburned Foster Kids Catch Attention Of Hotel Staff

A drunk Alabama couple was arrested on child abuse charges which maintain that they forced their sunburned foster children to stay out in the Florida sun while on vacation, even though they were already sunburned.

Mounir El-Rhazouani, 31, and Rebecca El-Rhazouani, 32, allegedly ignored the foster children as they begged to come inside the Hawaiian Inn in Daytona Shores hotel room. Staffers at the Florida hotel called the police and informed officers that they were concerned about the well being of the two and five-year-old children.

Florida police bodycam video reportedly shows Mounir El-RHazouani and Rebecca El-Rhazouani lounging by the Hawaiian Inn pool drinking beer as the officers arrived. The couple then reportedly tells the law enforcement officers that they left the two young children in the hotel room “on their own.”

“The child wanted to get out of the sun so bad that it was literally running to that door over there, screaming, trying to get into the door and the father would not take the child inside,” a Florida hotel staffers is then heard stating on the police body camera video.

Rebecca El-Rhazouani tld the police investigators that one of the foster children has eczema and that was likely why the child’s skin appeared to look so red. The Alabama foster parents then reportedly led the police officers to their hotel room where a pocket knife and more beer was noted as being found.

“My poor babies, oh, my gosh, my poor babies. I was going to put them to bed, I promise, I was going to get my stuff and put them to bed. Oh, my gosh,” foster mom Rebecca El-RHazouani is heard saying after entering the room. She also reportedly claimed that she only went downstairs to the pool area to retrieve their belongings.

The foster children appeared to be both sunburned and dehydrated, according to the police report. The couple was led away from the hotel room in handcuffs. The children were given the necessary emergency treatment The Alabama foster parents were arrested on two counts of children neglect and posted bond a short time later.
