Kathy Hilton Is ‘Proud’ Of Sister Kim Richards For Going To Rehab, Says She Unsure Of ‘RHOBH’ Season Six

Kathy Hilton was happy to see her sister, Kim Richards, check into a treatment facility after her drunken rampage at the Beverly Hills Hotel last month. In a May 17 interview with PEOPLE Magazine, Kathy Hilton said the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was doing “great.”

On April 16, at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Richards became drunk and was cut off by the bartender at the Polo Lounge, a favorite of her and Kathy Hilton’s late mother. However, as opposed to leaving the restaurant when asked, Richards refused, and began to annoy her fellow guests.

Following a conversation between Richards and security at the hotel, it was determined that backup was needed, and the Beverly Hills Police Department arrived a short time later to remove Richards from the premises, and take her into custody. From there, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who later admitted to relapsing months prior, entered rehab.

“She’s great. She’s doing really, really well. I’m very proud of her. She decided on her own to go.”

While there had been reports, claiming Bravo had forced Kathy Hilton’s sister to enter rehab, she claimed that was not the case, and also revealed to PEOPLE Magazine that Richards is “unsure” of her return to season six.

“I think the show has been really great. I mean she’s a professional. She’s an actress. But this is real.”

“Kim needs to learn the tools to cope when there is something that’s upsetting,” Kathy Hilton added. “You have to learn to use the tools to not fall off the wagon.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kathy Hilton often finds herself caught in the middle of the Richards sister’s ongoing feud. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live earlier this year, Kyle Richards opened up about their issues, revealing how her sister, Kathy Hilton, deals with their disputes.

“That is a very good question. You know, it’s difficult for [Kathy Hilton]. She’s in a complicated position because she’s not there when we’re filming. So then we go back and she hears my version, and then she hears Kim’s version, and then she has to kind of wait and see the show. So, I think she kind of feels stuck to be honest.”

Kathy Hilton’s sister has been charged with public intoxication, resisting an officer and battery on an officer. Kim Richards is due in court on June 11.
