Mama June Wants Lap Band To Fix Weight Loss Plateau

Controversial reality television star Mama June Shannon is seeking medical intervention to finally get her weight under control.

TMZ reports that Shannon, known for the hit reality show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, recently lost 45 pounds through diet modification and working with a personal trainer. Shannon’s weight loss has since plateaued, and she will get lap band surgery this summer to break through that plateau and lose another 50 pounds. Reportedly, Mama June hopes to weigh in at about 227 pounds after the lap band surgery.

How did Mama June celebrate her last days before surgery? By going to a strip club.

Mama June was spotted at Crazy Horse Gentleman’s Club in Pomona Beach, Florida, on Saturday night. While June didn’t remove any clothing, she did climb on stage with the dancers and grind against them. However, the trip wasn’t for pleasure. The Daily Mail reports that Shannon scored a $5,500 payday for her three-hour appearance at Crazy Horse Gentleman’s Club.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Scott Disick was scheduled to make an appearance at Crazy Horse in April. The appearance never occurred, likely because Disick instead went to a rehab facility in Costa Rica. Disick reportedly would have received a first class ticket to Florida and a $50,000 payday for his appearance, 10 times what Mama June nabbed for hers.

Of course, Disick is still part of a juggernaut reality television franchise showing no signs of slowing, and Mama June’s reality show ended in controversy and infamy.

Mama June’s weight loss journey began in February when the cast of the daytime talk show The Doctors staged an intervention for Shannon and her daughter Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. Honey Boo Boo reportedly has asthma and severe inflammation issues related to the family’s poor diet and obesity. When The Doctors made a follow-up visit, they expressed concern that June and Alana weren’t sticking to the nutrition plan.

Since the cancellation of the family television show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and the break-up of her relationship with Sugar Bear Thompson, Mama June has struggled to keep the family in the limelight. In addition to the appearance on The Doctors and her hosting gig at Crazy Horse, Mama June recently came out as bisexual. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mama June admitted to three sexual encounters with women.

“I’m not going to lie, I played in the minors but never went pro.”
