Drake’s Musical Talent Gets Challenged By Murder Mook In Battle Rap

While Drake’s music continues to flourish, there are times when his talent is also challenged by those in the rap industry. Now it appears to be Murder Mook.

During a Smack/URL event, battle rappers gathered on stage as the event came to a close. However, among the underground MCs, Drake was in the building to pay homage to the hip hop culture.

Drizzy is known for his interest in battle rap and was asked a question about it.

“How important do you think battle rap is to the hip hop culture?” As Aubrey “Drake” Graham commenced in the on-stage interview, he stated his position.

“I just want to say, this is my first Smack event. You know, I’ve been to like ‘Kick It or Die’ s***. Shout out to ‘Kick It or Die’. You know, we’re from the 6 and s***. But like he said, this is the biggest arena in the world. This is the most inspiring s*** for anyone doing music or rap, period. So, it’s an honor to be here with Smack. I appreciate y’all.”

During Drake’s interview, the crowd became a bit unruly as some booed him. Underground battle raps tend to be hardcore, and though Drake’s a fan of the rap genre, some feel that he doesn’t have what it takes to stick it. Those individuals feel that Drizzy’s songs and music are too soft for their particular atmosphere.

However, the rap MC was asked if a battle will ever happen between himself and Murder Mook. Drake‘s response was as follows.

“You gotta beat [Tsunami] Surf first before you come see me [Crowd goes crazy]. But we can negotiate. We can talk about it [after he beats him].”

“I feel like we can go right now though. Yo, but real rap. Real rap though. Like I said, I f*** with this n**** all the way, for real. So, even for the battle rap culture and whatever we do, if it goes down it goes down. If not, you know I f*** with you. You’re my boy…

“…BUT!… I will [lyrically] murder this n**** if he ever wanna get on this stage though! He knows that! I’m ready to rap right now, man.”
