Bad Blood And Bitter Words: Does Taylor Swift Hate Katy Perry?

Bad Blood” might be about Katy Perry, and it might not. Taylor Swift isn’t exactly saying. It’s no secret that there is bad blood between Katy and Taylor though. It’s been going on for years, and the “Bad Blood” video is just one more weapon in the ongoing star fight. No one has even seen the video yet, but speculation is rife! Even Katy Perry herself thinks some of the blood has seeped into Swift’s song.

Taylor is recruiting her friends for the video, letting the stars choose their own vengeful alter ego names. She’s tweeted a series of Sin City style teaser posters featuring various stars dressed in noir fashion and sporting their “Bad Blood” names. Swift chose CATastrophe for herself, and her friends found threatening over-the-top aliases too. Ellie Goulding is Destruct-X, GiGi Hadid appears as Slay-Z, Zendaya as Cut-Throat, and Lily Aldridge threatens a cold front with Frostbyte.

She’s not limiting the cast to her own circle of friends though. Taylor Swift has called on other celebrities for cameos in “Bad Blood,” with Cara Delevingne (carrying a set of nunchucks) as the Mother Chucker, and iconic supermodel Cindy Crawford recently agreeing to be the Headmistress.

So what’s the problem, anyway? Why does everyone think “Bad Blood’s” bitter lyrics might be about Katy Perry?

According to Rolling Stone, it has a lot to do with how Katy Perry tried to scoop Taylor Swift’s picks for a 2013 arena tour.

“She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour,” Swift said. “She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational — you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

But the bad blood didn’t start then. The conflict been going on for years, though Taylor won’t confirm that the “she” involved is actually Katy Perry.

“For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Swift said, refusing to name names. “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'”

Billboard asks the question that’s on everyone’s mind. “Will Perry be watching Sunday night?”

We don’t know either, but we’ll be keeping an eye on Twitter to see if she has anything more to say.
