Miley Cyrus Is ‘Finally’ Okay With Being Alone

Miley Cyrus’ relationships have been the talk of the town ever since news broke that she may be bisexual. But after ending things with Patrick Schwarzenegger, she is saying that she is okay being alone.

According to E! News, Miley may have been in some high profile relationships, but she doesn’t want those relationships to define who she is. In a recent interview with Time, she says that she also won’t define her sexuality.

“I’m not hiding my sexuality. For me, I don’t want to label myself as anything,” said Miley. “We love putting people in categories, but what I like sexually isn’t going to label me as a person.”

The star has been defined by the media for a variety of reasons, but now she is coming out and wants people to know that she can’t be defined by her gender or her sexuality, and others shouldn’t be either.

“It has a lot to do with being a feminist, but I’m finally O.K. with being alone,” she said to Time. “I think that’s something we have to talk about more: that you can be alone. There are times in my life where I’ve had boyfriends or girlfriends. And there are times where I just love being with myself and don’t want to give part of myself away to someone else … I think that’s a new freedom for women, especially. I don’t know that my mother would have been able to be 22 and secure in being alone. But my future doesn’t rely on having a partner.”

According to a previous report by the Inquisitr, Miley Cyrus recently opened up about her new organization, the Happy Hippie Foundation, and claims that she will do just about anything to promote her message regarding her support for all the LGBT kids out there.

“When you have all eyes on you, what are you saying? And that’s what I had to ask myself a lot,” she told the Associated Press. “It’s like, I know you’re going to look at me more if my [breasts] are out, so look at me. And then I’m going to tell you about my foundation for an hour and totally hustle you.”

Miley wants people to know that she doesn’t want to be defined, and while it may be easy for her to say that, for millions of LGBTQ kids and teens out there, it’s not that easy. Miley Cyrus wants to reach out to them to let them know that it’s okay to be who they are, and part of that is being okay with being alone sometimes.
