Kim Kardashian recently promoted her new book, Selfish, at a Barnes and Noble signing on Tuesday, in New York City. Although the event went relatively well for the reality star, a group of anti-fur activists made sure they let Kardashian know their feelings on her numerous fur-filled clothing items.
People reports that around 10 or so anti-fur activists took it upon themselves to use Kardashian’s book signing event as a way to get back at her for wearing wearing mink coats and other clothing made with fur or animal skin. As the activists held up signs calling Kardashian a “murderer,” she seemed to take it in stride as she continued to sign her new book for fans.

However, holding signs simply wasn’t enough for the angry activists. Several were able to confront Kardashian face to face before being removed from the building. One man, in particular, requested that Kardashian sign her book to all the animals that suffered for her.
“Can you make it out to all the animals that have been tortured and killed for you to wear a fur coat?”
As the activists descended down the store’s escalators, they continued to scream at Kardashian, reminding her that they think she’s a murderer who should be ashamed of herself.
Kardashian, 34, can’t deny her love of fur clothing. Numerous pictures depict Kardashian showing off a wardrobe consisting of rabbit fur-lined sandals, a full fur bikini made by husband Kanye West, a black fur coat, and much more.
This isn’t the first time Kardashian received backlash over her love of fur. Earlier this year, Sharon Osbourne joined the growing list of people who are disconcerted by Kardashian’s outfits.
“I know PETA has asked the Kardashians to stop. (North) isn’t an accessory – she shouldn’t be wearing ugly couture clothes. (Fur) makes me physically sick, and wearing it is a very dated way of showing everyone how rich you are. Our grandparents did it, but now we’ve been educated, it’s cruel to keep the trade going.”
Not everyone agrees with PETA and anti-fur activists, including Lady Gaga, who is notoriously known for standing up for her own rights to wear fur clothing. In 2012, she defended Kardashian’s choice to wear what she wants as well, stating that the the reality star is “fabulous.”
“To campaigners, save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous.”
Meanwhile, Kim Kardashian has received good reviews on her new book. Selfish, to some people, is a word that truly depicts Kardashian, but Time reports that the new author actually spends a lot of time writing about the people behind the scenes who help her with make-up, hairstyles, and fashion.
