‘Teen Mom’ Amber Portwood Nearly Evicted In April For Unpaid Rent

Amber Portwood is out of prison and back on Teen Mom OG. Despite having her life back on the right track, the reality show star is, unfortunately, no stranger to drama. While the hit MTV show is providing plenty of dramatic opportunities, it is Amber’s personal life in which she recently faced drama. However, this time, it doesn’t have anything to do with her relationship to Matt Baier, another aspect of her life which has come under harsh scrutiny lately, but rather with her living arrangements.

As most fans know, Amber Portwood lives quietly in her home state of Indiana. The reality show star rents out a four-bedroom home and her fiancé recently moved into the home with her. While her daughter, Leah, does not live with her full-time, she does visit. According to Radar Online, though, the reality show star was nearly evicted from her home last month.

The trouble stems from an April 13 lawsuit, which stated that Amber Portwood had not paid her rent. With her book doing well and Teen Mom OG back on the air, there would be no reason for Amber to not be paying her rent, and it looks like everything turned out to be a bit of a misunderstanding, with the management company withdrawing the lawsuit at the end of April.

A source close to Amber spoke to Radar and explained what happened. It turns out that Amber had recently done some traveling and had believed she had paid her rent for the month of April.

“Amber was traveling a lot last month, and thought she had already paid through April. The management company never called her or said anything, so she had no idea she owed money until she saw the eviction story in the local newspaper!”

The source added, “It seems like the company just wanted attention.”

Amber Portwood wasn’t about to let something like this happen again, though. The Teen Mom OG star reportedly paid her rent for the rest of the year! While some people feel that the girls of the show don’t always spend their earnings wisely, this seems like a case where Amber made a good choice with her money. Now, if she does end up traveling again, she won’t have to worry about whether or not her rent is paid.

This isn’t the only part of Portwood’s life in which she is reducing drama. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Amber recently went to visit Gary Shirley’s new baby. Gary is Amber’s ex and the man with whom she shares a child. While the two have had drama in the past, they seem to have been able to move past that.

Teen Mom OG airs Monday night’s on MTV and includes Amber Portwood and her fiancé.
