Sarah Jessica Parker Attends Met Gala In Headdress, Gets Compared To Classic Cartoon Characters
Sarah Jessica Parker attended the 2015 Met Gala in New York City on Monday, May 4. This year’s theme is “China: Through The Looking Glass” and it looks like the actress is dressed according to the theme. Sarah attended the event in a black one-shoulder gown and a Philip Tracy headdress.
It’s not surprising that Parker went out of her way to match the theme tonight. She designed her one-shoulder black gown in collaboration with H&M, according to Bustle. That means Parker is serious about tonight’s look. She paired her gown with black lace boots from her SJP Collection. In fact, Parker shared a photo of her shoes on Instagram.
She included the caption: “Chinese Whispers. X Sj #ChinaThroughTheLookingGlass.”
There’s no doubt that Sarah’s caption is going to raise some eyebrows. Fans have been wondering if celebs will go the culturally offensive route with tonight’s theme. Sarah was one of the first celebrities to hit the red carpet in a headdress, with Selena Gomez and Tabitha Simmons right behind her.
Parker has also become the latest internet theme thanks to her headdress. It hasn’t stopped fans from comparing her look to popular cartoon characters and villains. Meanwhile, others took to the Twitter to talk about how they feel about Parker’s headdress.
Sarah Jessica Parker is a style icon. Her Met Gala look is bomb to me. No complaints here

Sarah looked back at the time when she rocked a Mohawk at the 2013 Met Gala when the theme called for punk rock. No, she didn’t wear her hair into a Mohawk style. Sarah wore a gold Mohawk headdress with black feathers. Philip Tracy was also the designer behind Sarah’s iconic headdress. The actress talked about the time she spent perfecting her look for that particular event.
“I research. I look at old images, I think quite seriously about designers, because actually, it’s quite fun to do so and you can learn a huge amount about history, fashion, and art.
Me, literally sitting on the floor of the car in order to accommodate my Mohawk was pretty freaking amusing. Not only to me, but my date, Hamish Bowles.
I’ve spent time in various uncomfortable and unconventional seated positions in cars on the way to the Met Gala in order to respect the dress.”
Parker doesn’t regret her choice though. She noted that the experience was “always a laugh. Insane.”
Everything is always an express for the actress. She lives her life with no regrets, even when it comes to her dating life. The Inquisitr previously reported that Sarah received a visit from Robert Downey Jr. when he was in New York last October. It was then that the actor reached closure on their past relationship. Sarah and Robert dated for seven years in the late 1980s.
