Cleveland Browns Trade Rumors: Sam Bradford Trade With Philadelphia Eagles Close?

Cleveland Browns trade rumors have shifted again. Now the Browns could trade for Sam Bradford of the Philadelphia Eagles if a report from Sports Illustrated on Thursday (April 30) is correct. The indication is that the Browns are still pushing hard to acquire Bradford and that a deal could take place before the 2015 NFL Draft. It’s easy to see why the Eagles and Browns match up on paper, but can the two franchises come to terms before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers make the first overall selection?

It’s not a secret that the Cleveland Browns have been trying to acquire quarterback Sam Bradford for a while now. CBS Sports confirmed that the Browns tried to make a deal with the St. Louis Rams before the Rams dealt Bradford to the Philadelphia Eagles. The end-game in Philadelphia always looked like Chip Kelly would want to find a way to get Marcus Mariota in the NFL Draft, though, especially with how well they worked together back in Oregon. Now the opportunity has come up again.

The Browns have two first-round selections in the draft, giving the team two huge assets to work with. It’s possible that the Eagles would accept one of those picks in exchange for Bradford, putting a new quarterback on the field for the Browns in 2015. The Eagles could then look to acquire another pick in order to work out yet another deal with the Tennessee Titans. The Titans own the No. 2 overall pick and that is a prime place to select Marcus Mariota in the first round.

As previously reported on the Inquisitr , the struggles that Johnny Manziel has had adjusting to the NFL may have the Browns ready to give up on him. After selecting him in the first-round of the 2014 NFL Draft, it’s possible that the Browns are prepared to quickly move in a new direction. It’s certainly possible that he figures “it” out and turns into a viable quarterback in the NFL, but the Browns have had so many recent struggles that the front office may want an immediate solution. Sam Bradford could indeed be that solution.

With the first day of the 2015 NFL Draft taking place Thursday (April 30), there is a limited amount of time left for the teams to make a deal. If the Philadelphia Eagles added something to the mix to go along with Sam Bradford, it could be interesting to see if the Cleveland Browns are willing to trade both first-round selections in 2015 for him. There are a number of teams that want draft picks, so the front office would need to be sure that is the best course of action.
