Kim Richards Threatens To Leave Rehab: ‘RHOBH’ Star Blames Dr. Phil For Ambushing Her Into Getting Help

Kim Richards’ recent rehab stay is not going well as she has reportedly threatened to leave the Malibu treatment facility. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ star blames Dr. Phil for ambushing her into seeking treatment following her relapse and arrest earlier this month.

A source tells Radar Online that Kim Richards’ “detox was brutal” and the reality TV star repeatedly stated she wanted to leave the treatment facility just days after checking herself in. According to the insider, Kim also blames Dr. Phil for her current predicament as he put pressure on her to seek treatment during their interview.

“Kim is blaming Dr. Phil for ambushing her during the taping. With her kids there, Kim felt increased pressure to go. She is blaming everyone and anyone for the current situation, including her arrest and rehab stay.”

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kim sat down to tape an exclusive interview with Dr. Phil just days after her arrest at the Beverly Hilton Hotel earlier this month. At some point during her time with the TV psychologist, Kim Richards realized she was getting more than she bargained for and questioned whether Dr. Phil was staging an intervention. She storms out of the interview, but her sister Kathy Hilton reportedly calms Kim down and brings her back to finish up the interview.

Although the RHOBH star initially declined Dr. Phil’s offer to send her to rehab on his dime, she checked herself into a Malibu rehab facility over the weekend, as TMZ reports. According to Radar Online, the Dr. Phil show, in fact, is paying for Kim’s treatment.

“The Dr. Phil show is indeed paying for Kim’s rehab, because Kim doesn’t even have health insurance, yet. Kim demanded a private room, claiming she was a celebrity. She refused to even consider having a roommate.”

In Kim Richards’ interview with Dr. Phil, set to air on Tuesday, the reality TV star is expected to discuss the events leading up to her arrest on April 16 for public intoxication, trespassing and assaulting a police officer. As the Inquisitr reports, Kim takes some responsibility for her actions during the interview but claims pressure from being a part of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ cast and harsh criticisms by Twitter fans are what triggered her relapse on the morning of her arrest.

“The fans are very hard on me, and I went on Twitter to see what people were saying and it was just horrible. [They say] ‘You’re a hoe. You’re a liar. You are a drunk.’ They were calling me all kinds of names, and I am an alcoholic. I’ve said that.”

Dr. Phil’s interview with Kim Richards is set to air at 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 28.
