What Led Bravo Star Kim Richards To Drink On The Night Of Her Arrest?

Bravo star Kim Richards spoke out about the moments leading up to her April 16 arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel during her interview with Dr. Phil, and seemingly hinted that The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills may have led to her relapse.

In a sneak peek at tomorrow’s new episode, via a report by the Huffington Post on April 27, the Bravo star explained her thoughts.

“I’m a very strong person, and I have been sober. I haven’t been working a program. Living through this season on a show, sometimes it’s hard enough to get through it. The fans are very hard on me.”

Recalling some of the things fans have said, Richards choked back tears.

“You’re a ***; you’re a liar; we know you’re drinking; you’re a drunk, calling me all kinds of names. And, I am an alcoholic — I’ve said that.”

The Bravo star has chronicled the ups and downs of her addiction for the last couple of years on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after being called out by her sister during an early season of the show. Then, during Season 5, Richards appeared to be off the wagon again, after admitting to taking a pain pill given to her by her cancer-stricken ex-husband, Monty Brinson. However, despite the slip-up, the Bravo star insisted she had not given up on her recovery plan.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Richards’ interview with Dr. Phil proved dramatic after the Bravo star was confronted about her bad parenting and shocking arrest. According to an April 27 report by Daily Mail Online, Dr. Phil questioned Richards’ motives in driving to the Beverly Hills Hotel after having relapsed at her daughter’s, Brooke Brinson’s, home.

“You’re at your daughter’s house and all of the sudden, you are in there pouring a drink, and then you roll into a bar at midnight — and you’re already drunk when you get there. Why would you not order a drink? Why would you go to a bar if you’re not going to order a drink?”

In response, the Bravo star claimed she went to the hotel because she had begun to feel the effects of what she drank at her daughter’s house.

“I was feeling the drink and I didn’t want to drive anymore, and I pulled in so I wouldn’t be on the road. I pulled in there because that’s a safe place for me. That’s where I usually go.”

The Bravo star’s interview will air tomorrow on Dr. Phil.
