Sarah Jessica Parker On ‘Strip,’ Her Own Shoe Collection, And ‘Divorce’?

Sarah Jessica Parker is no stranger to the world of luxe fashion, and after being garbed in the most stylish of ensembles for years while portraying the beloved character Carrie Bradshaw on the HBO hit Sex and the City, SJP has continued to dazzle her fans and fashionistas the world over with her own choice of ensembles as well as with her ever-enticing SJP shoe line.

Parker’s continuing to put her best foot forward. She’s expanding the SJP line by teaming up with Tony Hsieh’s Zappos Couture and has recently launched her “Strip Collection,” which includes “handbags, shoes and candles inspired by Las Vegas,” as the Las Vegas Sun reports. The publication shares that to launch the line, Sarah and Zappos Couture hosted a pop-up boutique that “looked as if it had been plucked from Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue to set the stage for a luxurious event filled with fashion and Carrie Bradshaw’s favorite cosmopolitans and champagne.”

The pop-up was held Thursday in the Shops at Crystals in City Center at Aria in Las Vegas. Chatting with the Las Vegas Sun, Sarah Jessica Parker openly shared additional info in regard to her own shoe and shopping habits. Interestingly enough, Parker had some surprising details to relay to the publication.

“I’m the opposite of that character I played on television. I love shoes. I love what they do for a woman. But I’m somebody who holds on to things for a long time and wears them for a long time. I like the value in something comfortable. You’ll even find some flats — it’s not just high heels.”

Although Sarah’s shoe collection may not be extensive or ever-increasing, she is adamant that her love for shoes has been true and deep for years and even stretches back to well before her time on the HBO hit show for which she is most well-known. In order to bring her new “Strip Collection” to fruition, which is available at Zappos, the 50-year-old sought partnership with one of the biggest in the biz, Manolo Blahnik CEO George Malkemus.

Sarah Jessica Parker was eager to expand in regard to her venture in the fashion industry and how it presents a new and exciting challenge apart from her acting career.

“I enjoy this aspect of business. It’s so different from television. It’s good for an actress to have another interest. I have my others, like the fragrance, but designing a wardrobe for a woman is really rewarding. I set out to take this shoe opportunity to make reasonably priced, sexy shoes that would last and be of real value to a woman working hard for her money. I think we’ve succeeded well.”

And Parker truly poured herself into every detail of the new collection “[f]rom the names of shoes such as ‘Carrie’ from her role on ‘SATC’ to the little ribbon found on each product representing her own childhood, each style has a story as personal to the wearer as it is to Sarah herself.”

The excitement doesn’t stop with Parker’s offering of memories from her days at HBO either. The busy mom and wife to actor Matthew Broderick has recently given us all another reason to celebrate as she prepares to make her return to the network in the much anticipated series Divorce.

Vanity Fair communicated that “Divorce (like Sex and the City) will film in New York and tells the story of Frances (Parker), a woman who reassesses her life and marriage and decides to try to make a clean break.”

The good news just keeps on coming for SJP enthusiasts!
