Bobbi Kristina Opens Up To Oprah [Video]

Bobbi Kristina has been at the center of the media circus surrounding Whitney Houston’s death. Rumors have been circulating that the late singer’s daughter would be entering rehab for a drug problem and yesterday it was reported that she was going to change her name because she wants to completely cut ties from her father. Last night, Bobbi Kristina Brown opened up about her mother’s death to Oprah.

TV Guide reports that the interview, which aired last night on the OWN Network, was Bobbi’s first interview since her mother’s death. Bobbi said:

“I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me. I can always feel her with me… I still walk in the house and call her name.”

The 19-year-old said that she had heard plenty of rumors about her mother, both before and after her death, but that Whitney Houston was always just “mom” to her. Bobbi said:

“Everyone wanted to say that she was something that she wasn’t … but they don’t know who she really was. I want people to know that all that negativity is garbage. That’s not my mother. I know who she was, her family knows who she was. I just saw her as mom.”

Patricia Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager, also joined Oprah to talk about the late singer. Patricia was with Whitney a half hour before her death. Patricia said:

“[Her assistant Mary and I] were gone no more than 30, 35 minutes. When we returned … I headed down the hallway to [Whitney’s] room and I heard screams/ When I got into the room I saw my brother Ray trying to revive her to the point of exhaustion. I said Ray, ‘Let it go.’ She had a peacefulness on her face. I saw [paramedics] cover her up and I knew that was it.”

Houston’s brother, and Patricia’s husband, Gary, also joined Oprah. Gary said that he didn’t expect Whitney to die the way she did, but he wasn’t shocked that it happened. Gary said:

“The writing was on the wall… I never thought anything like this would happen, (but) the handwriting was on the wall… I’d be kidding myself to say otherwise.”
