Glee to air Whitney Houston Tribute Episode

Glee will pay tribute to the late great Whitney Houston in a new upcoming episode. They have already begun shooting for it, and although no date has been set for when it will air, the Gleeks definitely have something in store to honor the pop superstar.

The show already gave a small tribute last month, when Amber Riley, known on Glee as Mercedes Jones, performed the smash hit song “I Will Always Love You.” Ironically, that episode had already been taped prior to Whitney’s sudden death, and that was apparently just a sample of what Fox’s hit show planned to do for the music legend. Glee producers won’t stop there, as they are putting together an entire episode made up of eight of the superstar’s hit songs.

Of course, they would like the tribute to be a surprise. However, Lea Michele, known as Rachel Berry on Glee, was not very discreet about the upcoming show when she tweeted recently, “Starting a new episode today. A very special tribute to one of the worlds most amazing singers. Very excited about this one.”

That was a pretty obvious tweet considering recent events. A source also told E! News about the episode, “This will not be a typical tribute. It’s using Whitney’s music as a way to say goodbye. A way to respectfully say thank you for her music.”

Whitney has so many hits, you never know what the Glee cast could perform. Will it be “I Have Nothing”, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, “Saving All My Love for You”, or the infamous “I Will Always Love You” once again? We shall see. A new episode of Glee will air April 10th. This could be the ultimate tribute everyone has been waiting on.
