Bruno Mars x SpaceX: Famous Single Gets Funked-Up by Cinesaurus

Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” is getting a lot of attention everywhere, especially since Newsday reports it was set to accomplish the record of longest-running No. 1 hit of all time. Parodies of “Uptown Funk” has been crawling all over the web since February but a fresh take on Bruno Mars’ “funk” recently exploded in Youtube, crossing Bruno Mars, the planet Mars, SpaceX, a bit of Paypal, and a lot of Elon Musk.

Created by Cinesaurus, “a creative powerhouse obsessed with telling stories through branded digital content that people actually want to watch and share,” the video will surely make Bruno Mars and Elon Musk proud. Entitled “SpaceX Launch You UP,” the music video tackles Elon Musk’ SpaceX launch attempts and funding, to the tune of Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”

Cinesaurus talks about the reason behind coming up with the Bruno Mars parody and even encourages Elon Musk to share the video, to “help promote the future of science and space exploration.”

“Well, first off, we here at Cinesaurus really love getting amped by dope music, especially when it has a good message. Second, we are huge fans of SpaceX and everything they are doing here on Earth and in Space to get us to other planets. We like to do anything we can to help support space science and think you should too! Get your friends excited about what SpaceX, NASA, or your favorite space company is up to!”

The Bruno Mars x SpaceX parody is actually a very genuine support for the SpaceX effort and a pretty good imitation of Bruno Mars, and Gizmodo notes that Cinesaurus’ high-quality lyrics and graphics will be worth watching. Even a couple of celebrities are already tweeting about the Bruno Mars x SpaceX parody.

Founded in 2010 by Steven and David Hudson, Cinesaurus have created various hilarious videos and branded video content for huge international companies. Their videos have already accumulated over 200 million views and shares via Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.

SpaceX is a space transport company founded by Elon Musk in 2002 in an effort to start creating a civilization in Mars. One of the aims of the company is to lower the cost of spaceflight to an economically feasible amount, while creating a permanent Mars colony. Space.com reports some of the most prominent supporters of the project are Google and Fidelity Investments, with an investment of $1 billion as of January.

“Uptown Funk” is one of Bruno Mars most successful singles, if not his most successful, racking up over 14 weeks on the Billboard top. Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars’ partner on the single, tells billboard that “Uptown Funk” has been one of his best creations yet and that he knows for sure that it is one of Bruno Mars’ favorites as well.

The “SpaceX Launch You Up” parody has been put down by Sony Music Entertainment early this week but Cinesaurus have managed to put it up again on the site, noting that the parody does not infringe on Sony’s copyright. Watch Cinesaurus’ Bruno Mars x SpaceX parody below.
