5 Seconds Of Summer Members Break Their 'No Girlfriends' Rule, But New Album Still On The Way

The Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer is hard at work finishing up the follow up to their debut self-titled album. But despite placing a strict "no girlfriends" rule to prevent distractions when working on albums, two of the members of the band have found themselves a main squeeze.

According to Venture Capital Post, the two fan favorites of 5 Seconds of Summer seem to have brand new girlfriends. Drummer Ashton Irwin was spotted in public hanging out with a young blonde named Bryana Holly. Ashton was seen riding bikes in Venice Beach with Bryana and even touring Disneyland.

The other band member to break the unwritten "no girlfriends allowed" rule was Calum Hood. Rumor has it that Hood is dating Jennifer Phipps, an Australian girl from Sydney. Phipps is slightly older than the 5 Seconds of Summer bassist at 22.

Neither Ashton Irwin nor Calum Hood publicly announced their relationships with Holly and Phipps, but Calum's girl did post several pictures to her Instagram account showing her nuzzling the boy band star. You can see a photo below of Phipps sitting on Calum's lap with the caption, "its calum by the way, don't freak out @calumhood."

Now that Calum Hood has a girlfriend, maybe he'll be less likely to make embarrassing mistakes on the internet.

Even with girlfriends distracting them, the boys of 5 Seconds of Summer are finding time to please their fans. According to Billboard, the band plans to release a sophomore LP sometime before the end of 2015.

"We've got a lot of time coming up, actually, to write and record again," Ashton Irwin said last year. "We definitely would like to have another album out there some time next year."

Fans will have to hope that all that spare time hasn't already been sucked up by the girls in their lives. But even with the new 5 Seconds of Summer album on the way, the boys are devoting most of their official band business to the Rock Out with Your Socks Out tour. The dates have been set, but the band hasn't yet departed. The tour will kick off next month.

But fans of the band still have some material to sink their teeth into. The band recently released the live album LiveSOS, which you can purchase here.
