Christie Brinkley Wants Ex-Husband Peter Cook To Pay $140,000 In Electronic Bullying Fines

Christie Brinkley and her ex-husband Peter Cook are heading back to court. The two had a famously heated divorce four years ago and now they’re fighting over the divorce contract.

Brinkley says that Cook should be fined $140,000 for harassing her while Cook says that Brinkley still owes him $25,000. Cook and Brinkley will have things settled once again in a public court.

The New York Post reports that both parties are accusing each other of breaching their divorce settlement contract which prohibits aggressive communication.

So where does Brinkley’s claim for $140,000 come from? According to the NY Daily News a judge ordered Cook to pay a fine of $5000 every time that he sent an aggressive email. Brinkley says that she count 28 times that Cook has been abusive toward her since the 2008 ruling and says that Cook now owes her $140,000. Brinkley also wants $32,000 to help pay for the education of Jack, 16, and daughter Sailor, 13.

Brinkley’s lawyer Tony Campagna said that the new filing isn’t about money. Instead, Campagna says that Brinkley is just sick of being bullied. Campagna said:

“This is not about the money. This is about what we’re calling bullying.”

But James Winkler, Cook’s attorney, says that this is a two-sided case. Winkler said that the original contract favored Brinkley and that fines on “electronic bullying” should go both ways. Winkler claims that if Brinkley were to be fined for aggressive emails, she would have “more than $200,000 in fines against her.”

“Peter is defending himself, and she doesn’t like that… Ms. Brinkley thinks that their [divorce] settlement only gave her rights and didn’t give Peter rights. She doesn’t communicate with him about the children. She doesn’t provide information. She is inflexible about parenting time although she demands flexibility from Peter.”

Are you surprised that Cook and Brinkley are still fighting?
