Super model Chrissy Teigen has always been an advocate of positive self-image and in one of her recent posts, she set another empowering example to female fans by proudly revealing her stretch marks.
In her Instagram account, Teigen uploaded a top down selfie that showed her in a cross-legged sitting position. She was wearing a white top and tiny denim shorts which effortlessly exposed her bruises and stretch marks.
As seen on the picture, the super model apparently has prominent stretch marks on her inner thigh but she didn’t hold back about sharing her flaws to her fans. Teigen, famous for being witty and funny, captioned her photo in a joking manner. She even named her stretch marks. The model wrote, “Bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi!”
Her post elicited numerous of positive responses from her fans on Twitter. One user tweeted, “Love it! Real women have stretch marks #respect.” Another user also praised the model saying, “I have so much respect for you! I have stretchies too and I appreciate someone being real about them and acknowledging them thanks.”

Even online critics expressed their admiration for the supermodel. People’s Style Watch , for one, gushed about how much they loved Teigen. They wrote, “The supermodel clearly looks amazing, and we love that she’s so open with her flaw and supports a positive body image.”
Mail Online also praised Teigen and considered her post as a good move. “Although the markings are a natural and common occurrence, it’s rare to see a celebrity display their flaws so proudly and the move no doubt gained Chrissy a few more fans in the process,” the online source wrote.
Another celebrity who has also proudly revealed her stretch marks is actress Alyssa Milano . In a discussion with the girls from The Talk , the actress opened up about her “imperfections” and claimed them as her “beauty marks.”
“Some people might see them as imperfections, but when you have a baby – those are your beauty marks,” Milano explained. “I love my stretch marks. I have them on my boobs, on my a–, on my belly.”
Unlike Milano, Teigen has yet to bear children. However, over the years, she has inspired women to feel better about themselves and accept their flaws. One of Teigen’s motivating feats was when she took a jab at Forever 21 after they fired her for being too “fat.”
