WWE News: Kevin Owens Calls Out Hideo Itami On Twitter, Future NXT Title Feud?
On last night’s episode of NXT, the WWE aired a previously-recorded show that was done during WrestleMania Axxess. The entire show consisted of the NXT Tournament to decide who would enter the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Hideo Itami ended up winning the tournament, but it was what happened after that caught the eye of many in the WWE Universe.
After NXT showed the match between Finn Balor, who should be on the WWE’s main roster soon, and Itami, they aired a short special about Itami’s journey to WrestleMania. It was very-well done, as Itami worked for years to reach the pinnacle of professional wrestling.
Hideo Itami tweeted after the NXT episode aired and confirmed his quest for the NXT championship.

After seeing that, Kevin Owens, the current-NXT champion, swiftly responded to Itami. Owens is not the one to shy away from social media. If it’s dealing with an irate fan or another superstar, Owens’ satire that includes kayfabe is always top-notch.

Is Owens hinting at a potential feud between Itami and he in the near-future? Kevin Owens has already defeated Sami Zayn and Finn Balor. It’s only a matter of time before Zayn gets his rematch for the NXT title. As for Balor, he will be heading to the WWE’s main roster very soon.
Therefore, the next two NXT superstars that will try to take the NXT belt off of Owens are Zayn and Itami. The question is, who will get Owens first? There are NXT fans that want to see Zayn defeat Owens for the strap, but then a feud between Itami and Owens would sell tickets.
Regardless of who you put with Kevin Owens, he will elevate the talent inside the squared circle. Owens’ resume in Ring of Honor speaks for itself he is continuing to impress in the WWE. When it is time to bring up Owens to the WWE’s main roster, what will they do with him? Does he contend for the WWE World Heavyweight championship right away?
