Christie Brinkley Run In: Rescue Mission Injures Supermodel While On Vacation

Supermodel Christie Brinkley had a run in with a feathered animal which resulted in a black eye and a cut on her face. The 61-year-old was trying to help a bird while spending her vacation in Turks and Caicos, but the animal walloped Brinkley in the eye.

People reports that Brinkley was on a boat, and then had to take a plane that flew her to a Miami hospital for treatment. Following the incident, Christie Brinkley posted a photo on Instagram showing the end result of her run-in with the bird. She had other images showing her in a hospital gown and close-ups of her injuries.

Her caption to the above on Instagram photo says it all.

“We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami for cat scans and stitches following an accident trying to save a bird. My grateful heartfelt thanks go out to our wonderful Parrot Cay Family who got me to the boat and plane, and my friends in Miami who found my A Team at University of Miami Hospital led by Dr Askari and his professional caring and adorable team and to my bestie @artminster who spent her much needed and deserved holiday by my bedside.. I ca’t possibly thank you enough and I offer you a pain check.. I mean rain check! Lol!”

There weren’t any details regarding the bird rescue that Brinkley was attempting. It may have been an injured bird that suddenly got out of control in the middle of the rescue and accidentally wounded her in the process of trying to escape. It appears that it must have been a rather large bird to give Christie those kinds of contusions and lacerations.

Christie Brinkley’s run-in with the bird didn’t deter her good time. Just before she shared the photos of her hospital visit in Miami, she shared pictures on Monday of her stay at Parrot Cay resort. She’s spending time there with her daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, 29.

“I’m back in Parrot Cay and is it my imagination (or the bump on my head?) that has me seeing the clouds as B A E (before anything else) which is reserved for very special sweet people like all of you who wrote such kind well wishes,” Christie wrote.

No word on how the bird is doing or what materialized after the nasty run-in it had with Christie Brinkley.
