Megan Fox Slams Critics For Calling Her ‘Dumb and Superficial’

Megan Fox, a star in blockbuster movies like Transformers and last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is taking on her critics because she’s tired of being called “dumb and superficial.”

In The Express UK, the actress, 28, expressed her frustration about the comments made about her.

“Most people assume that I’m not very smart or educated or earnest because I have this image that I’m sort of narcissistic, chasing attention, and wanting people to like me. It makes me laugh because I’ve done plenty of interviews and when you read the article from beginning to end you can see that I’m not your typical music video model.”

“In Transformers, I was a kid, I had no idea what I was doing. There was nothing for me to do but then I did nothing and that was my own call. I don’t take the criticism personally because in some ways I acknowledge and agree.”

Despite starring in last year’s hit Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Megan Fox is disappointed that critics focus on her looks and not her acting abilities. Films like Whore and Jonah Hex may have given critics the impression that Fox is nothing more than screen eye candy.

Her most impressive role to date is that of the demonically possessed high school cheerleader in Jennifer’s Body. She impressed the industry with her performance and received high praise from director Quentin Tarantino. In spite of her performance, she has continued to remain known for her dramatic beauty and powerful sexuality.

Fox is also part of a growing trend in Hollywood that is calling for an end to retouched photos and claims it’s time for women to get real about their bodies. It includes women accepting their flaws. In a recent interview, she offered plenty of natural beauty tips to help women have more beautiful skin. Megan credits her genes as the reason she is able to look beautiful without makeup.

In spite of the sex symbol image Megan Fox has received, she admitted she had only been with two men in her life, a confession she made in 2010.

“I can never have sex with someone that I don’t love, ever. The idea makes me sick. I’ve never even come close to having a one-night stand. My biggest regret is that I’ve assisted the media in making me into a cartoon character. I don’t regret what has happened to me, but I regret the way I have dealt with it.”

Fox has stepped back from acting and is taking time off to spend with her husband Brian Austin Green of the original 90210 fame and sons Noah and Bodhi.
